Airbnb Now Offers An “Around The World In 80 Days” Trip

When Jules Verne’s famous story Around the World in Eighty Days was released in 1873, it quickly became one of the most popular pieces of fiction in the world. Now, that fiction has become a reality thanks to Airbnb and a brand-new, 12-week adventure that will take travelers across 6 different continents. The package includes the lodging, food, and day-trips, but travelers will need to book their own airfare.

Airbnb’s newest adventure begins in London. From there, they’ll visit 18 different countries and participate in a variety of epic adventures, from visiting UNESCO World Heritage sites to hiking up to ancient monasteries in Bhutan. There’s truly something for every level of adrenaline junky in your party. Travelers will camp out on the Australian Outback and whitewater raft in the Canyonlands National Park in Utah.

The unique adventure is scheduled to depart London on September 1st and last until November 19th. You might expect an 80-day adventure like this to cost an arm and a leg, but the package is very (almost shockingly) affordable. The adventure will only accommodate a small group of 12 people, and the price tag is only $4,987 per person. That price covers all of the accommodations, food, and activities. The only thing the guests will need to cover on their end is the round-trip flight to and from London to start and finish the trip.

It’s important to understand that this unique offering from Airbnb is a one-time offering only. Spots on the trip are currently on sale at the Airbnb website and the trip will start on September 1st. What makes this trip even more unique is what Airbnb has decided to do with the proceeds from the trip. The company is calling the Around the World in 80 Days package a “social impact experience.”  As such, all of the proceeds from the package will go to a nonprofit organization. The Malala Fund was founded by Malala Yousafzai and focuses on helping young girls in places like Afghanistan and Syria feels safe and provides them with quality educations. If the price tag wasn’t reason enough to book a spot on the tour, the cause it supports certainly is.
